About ACE

The Australian Coalition for Endometriosis “ACE” is the national peak body for endometriosis and pelvic pain in Australia.

We are a national representative organisation that provides advocacy and representation, relevant research, policy, information dissemination services, support, coordination, and sector development for our members, partners and other sector stakeholders. We work as the national peak body for government as a single point of contact to liaise with directly, regarding endometriosis and pelvic pain across the sector. We minimise unnecessary duplicity across the sector and represent the views and voices at all levels.

Our History

Our History

Some of our members have been advocating for government action to combat the insidious disease of Endometriosis ever since 1980. They were among the many groups who have led campaigns to raise awareness and amplify the stories of those silently suffering with Endo.

In 2016, EndoActive, the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia and QENDO Inc were among other groups and individuals who formed the original Australian Coalition for Endometriosis (ACE). Together they identified shortcomings in critical areas such as services, treatments, research and education for Endo and called upon the Government to make Endometriosis a health priority.

As a result, in 2018, Australia became the first country to introduce a National Action Plan for Endometriosis. The Plan was the result of a collaboration between Government, Endometriosis experts and advocacy groups. Other countries are now considering similar plans to address the burden of Endo.

In 2023, some of the original advocacy groups in ACE (EndoActive, PPFA and QENDO) formalized the structure and registered the Coalition as a not-for-profit, now known as Australian Coalition for Endometriosis Ltd.  You can learn more about our members here.

Today, ACE helps to inform federal and state government  policy on Endometriosis and pelvic pain.

We encourage other groups and organisations to collaborate with us. We are stronger together.
